Jakarta — Singapore’s low-cost, long haul airline Scoot is set to operate a new route from Pekanbaru in Riau to Singapore starting June 4. Using an Airbus A320, the new service will be available four times a week: Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. “Indonesia is home to many breathtaking destinations and Pekanbaru is one of them. As the capital of Riau province and the economic center of the eastern part of Sumatra, the city will strengthen our network in Indonesia, either for business people or travelers,” Scoot CEO Lee Lik Hsin said in a statement. The new route will give Indonesian travelers easier access to the airline’s 61 destinations across the global via Singapore, including Saudi Arabia, Australia, China, India, Greece, United States and Germany.
